Daf Den Oudsten MB200

Wie herinnert zich deze nog?!

This is one of our pieces of public transport here in Holland: an '84 Daf Den Oudsten MB200.

It's even my all time favourite kind of bus, because I have so many memories about them

I've traveled very often by them with school, my granny and even my parrents and sisters (well, the youngest wasn't born yet before they disappeared) when I was a kid.

I remember them in exactly the same color as at my drawing, but the most I've seen during my youth were even yellow with a blue stripe underneath, they were black by the windows and the most I've seen had even square headlights. Unfortunately, these busses aren't on duty anymore since 2002 -_-

What even sucks, is that lots of them were transported to: Russia, Poland, Romania, Hungary and even Cuba for a second live as city bus! (well, if you take a look on the other side: other countries need some good busses too)

But, it doesn't mean they're completely vanished from here!

Daf it's birthplace is Eindhoven, but the busses of Den Oudsten were produced by Den Oudsten in Woerden (20 km away from my ressidence and I've been to that location!)

It's design comes from 1969 and they made them by: Leyland, Daf and in the late 80's by Van Hool (all of them made in Woerden)

The MB200 was made from 1969 till 1993 and the one at my drawing comes from 1984 (used a photo like this as a reference: [link] )

It's a piece of nostalgic here in Holland and that's why I've drawn this yellow Dutch monster!

Took me 3 days and I love it!
