My childhood memories

The MB200 is powered by a 11600 cc 6 cylinder diesel engine (produces only 165 bhp and reaches a topspeed of 135 km/h) and had an automatic transmission. It used to be one of the most popular busses here in Holland back in the 70's, 80's and even the 90's! The reason why these yellow-riders (how they were called back then) are so underpowered is because of our landscape. We don't have mountains, everything here in my country is flat, which makes it easy to get from A to B for these bitches.

The reason why I love these things so much is because of my childhood, nearly every bus you saw at my place in the 90's was one of these (with different fronts and destination displays) and because of it's styling ofcourse. I've travelled by these with my mother for many times when I was little and made a lot of drawings of them when I was 10 years old. (unfortunately were they retired by then)

This beautiful DAF belongs to a museum in Haarlem which is specialized in collecting old busses from my country, and they have 5 or 7 of these in their collection! (I really gonna visit that museum soon)
