Swedish Heavy-Metal!

It's 30 April, that means for us in Holland: Queens day! (well actually kingsday, because we just have a new king)
Just as last year did I go to Amsterdam and my place to look for some bargains on the flea markets. This old Volvo 142S was the 1st increase. It's made in Finland and there's more info about the manufacturer by this photo: [link]

Well, to despair some time: the car is made in Finland by Stahlberg, they made very detailed models (most of all Volvos and Saabs) which weren't available in the stores. You could only get them by the dealer by purchasing a brandnew car back in the 70's and 80's. They made almost every Volvo from the 60's till the 80's (they even made a late 1920's Volvo Jakob as well [link] ), almost every Saab from the same period (actually the 99, 900, 9000 and Sonet, but the Sonet is extremely rare), a Volkswagen Golf MK1, a Mercedes Benz W123 Touring, a Saab-Lancia Delta, DAF-Volvo's (the 66 and Volvo 300-series/DAF 77) and even a Toyota Corolla DX KE70. Today, those Stahlberg models are very rare, desirable and even expensive collectors items. I've found this nice old baby early this morning at my place at the flea market for SO DAMN CHEAP ! ! ! (€0.10!!! ) It definitely was worth 200 times more than I paid for it, but I always keep my mouth shut about these things when I'm visiting flea markets.

However, it's a Swedish car, has a Dutch design (Jan Wilsgaard was responsible for it) and it's like a war tank how tough these beasts are. There are tons of them around here! I see at least 7 of them at my place, but classic Volvo's are one of the most common and popular classics here on the Dutch roads. The electric guitar in the background is my Samick Les Paul. These cars have great quality of steel, so that's why I chose that title XD

I've always liked these Volvos, it's something different and hope you guys like it!
